Healthy Living Challenge

“Clean eating” is a hot new topic in nutrition. Clean eating is about eating food in its most whole, natural state, free of added unpleasantries. It’s a lifestyle, not a short-term diet, and one that I’ve been following for years with the help of Arbonne’s 30 days to healthy living program.

 

What is Healthy Living?  It is a 30 day mind and body detox and clean whole foods eating program. 
The purpose is to give participants the tools & knowledge to implement life-long health/wellness goals.  Healthy living is not about fasting or deprivation.  It is a program for people who want to detoxify the body and lose weight healthily, or for people who need to gain weight and muscle, and for athletes who want to increase performance, strength & energy.

 

This plan focuses on eating organic whole foods free of preservatives, additives, pesticides, hormones, antibiotics, artificial flavors and all other toxins.  It also focuses on increasing nutrient intake.  Due to the over-abundance of pre-packaged and fast food, many people are overweight yet malnourished. They carry toxic fat while their bodies starve for real nutrition. Eating whole foods, drinking water and supplementing with nutrients to fill in possible deficiencies created by mineral deficient farm soils can reverse this condition.

 

Healthy Living encourages eating low on the glycemic index to help balance blood sugar, and use food as fuel. The high, moderate and low “glycemic index” is a measure of how a given food affects blood-sugar levels, with each food being assigned a numbered rating. The lower the rating, the more gradual the infusion of sugars into the bloodstream and the more balanced the blood sugar, which decreases food cravings and increases energy and alertness.  Eliminating certain foods and eating foods that are more nutrient dense decreases feelings of deprivation throughout the program.  

 

A final goal of healthy living is to support our elimination organs.  We wouldn’t think about going a day without brushing our teeth, let alone years and years. Because we can’t see our liver, kidneys, and intestines we forget the important role they play in detoxification. The liver has over 500 functions and the kidneys filter 200 quarts of blood per day. You can hold 5-25 lbs. of waste in your large intestine (colon). All elimination organs need a “tune up” and proper maintenance.

 

The 30 days to Healthy living program is a whole foods nutrition program that focuses on creating a lifetime of wellness.  Programs goals are supported by Arbonne’s whole food nutritional line that is certified vegan, free of gluten, dairy, soy, whey, artificial colors, flavors, and sweeteners.
