Eat Your Water 🤔

April 4, 2018

          Water Intake

Many of us have no idea how important water intake is. Our bodies are made up of 60% water and the intake will vary depending on Gender, age and activity.

Our bodies need water to function properly throughout the day. I bet a lot of us didn’t know that water helps regulate our body temperatures.

We lose water all day long by simply breathing, sweating, and digestion also takes water to do so.

Hey, Drinking water throughout the day helps us maintain muscle tone and studies show that a decrease in water intake will actually cause FAT DEPOSITS TO INCREASE! OH BOY!

So, to drink enough water to sustain through the day, we must drink half our body weights in water daily.

Example would be if you weigh 200lbs, you should be drinking 100 ounces or more of of water per day.

Here’s a few tips for incorporating more water into your daily routine :

  1. Keep a reusable water bottle with you at all times so you can take advantage of sinks and water fountains. Preferably a bottle with markings that indicate the amount of water you are consuming. This will help you keep track throughout the day.

2) EAT YOUR WATER! Several fruits and vegetables have a large amount of water content. Watermelon,Cantelope,Grapefruit, cucumber and Spinach are a few that all have a very high water content.

3) Don’t mistake thirst for hunger! This is a huge mistake we all make. If you think you feel hungry, first drink 8oz of water and wait 5 minutes to see if you are still feeling hungry. Unless of course it is lunch time, then be sure to drink water with your meal so you feel full more quickly.
